What Is World Gin Day?
World Gin Day is an annual celebration of all things gin, a chance for people around the world to come together and toast this wonderfully diverse and flavoursome spirit. It's not just for gin purists either; it’s a day that welcomes every style of gin and every kind of gin drinker.
When Did World Gin Day Start?
The celebration began back in 2009, founded by gin enthusiast Neil Houston. Originally created as a small gathering of friends enjoying gin in Birmingham, the event quickly gained popularity. Thanks to the efforts of Emma Stokes, aka Gin Monkey, who took over the day’s promotion, it blossomed into an international phenomenon, now recognised and enjoyed by bars, distilleries and fans across the globe.
When Is World Gin Day 2025?
This year, World Gin Day falls on Saturday 14th June 2025 - mark your calendars! It always takes place on the second Saturday in June, making it the perfect start to summer gin celebrations.
