ellis goes full-time at fairham gin

As we near our 2-year anniversary in April, we’re extremely proud to announce that our co-founder and distiller, Ellis McKeown, is now a full-time employee of Fairham Gin.  

Ellis leaves his career in design and marketing to focus all his efforts on Fairham Gin, the Distillery and the brand new Fairham’s Bar located on the vibrant high street in Liverpool Road, Penwortham. With details due to be released on a launch date for the bar over the coming weeks, Ellis’ initial focus will be on this while managing the day-to-day running of the Lancashire distillery. 

Since graduating from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in 2016 with a degree in Fine Art and working as a digital and PR intern at the university in 2017, Ellis has gone on to forge a successful career that has spanned across social media, graphic design and marketing. Working for market leaders such as Eleven Sports Media, Social Chain – SPORF, Scorpion Automotive and also Liverpool Football Club, Ellis called time on his latest role as Creative Content Lead to begin the next and most important chapter in the Fairham Gin journey. 

Ellis says, “I’m extremely proud of what we have achieved in our journey so far, from our outhouse on Fairham Avenue to opening up a new Fairham bar, it’s everything we have dreamt of and more. I’m looking forward to taking on this role full-time and can’t wait to take our small business to that next step and grow it into what we believe it can be.” 

For the last two years, Ellis and Liam have both been in full-time 9-5 jobs, with Fairham Gin priorities coming of an evening, on lunch breaks and at the weekends. If you’re a keen follower of Fairham Gin you will know of our regular busy weekend markets schedule across the North West and the often tiring distilling evenings that comes with running an award-winning distillery.
